INNESS is an intimate country refuge, hotel, spa and restaurant located in Accord, New York. Situated on a campus of 225 pastoral acres, which include a 12-room farmhouse hotel, 28 guest cabins, restaurant, event barn, a 9-hole golf course, sporting outfitter, two swimming pools, tennis courts, walking trails, a retail home and farm shop, as well as an organic farm and orchard.
The Esthetician will meet and exceed guest expectations by providing efficient and
courteous spa and wellness services in accordance with Brand Ambition, Purpose, Brand
Pillar’s, Values and Spirit. The Esthetician is responsible for, but not limited to performing as
trained all spa treatments to guests in a professional and pleasant fashion.

Responsibilities

 Keep work area clean and neat at all times.
 Must follow all Standards and Procedures as taught by designated trainers, Lead
Therapist or Spa and Fitness Management Team.
 To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa.
 Assist in the operations of all spa departments as required:
Front Desk
Spa Retail Area
Relaxation Area
Wet Area
Fitness Center
Spa Suites

 Report dysfunctional equipment to Spa Management Team
 To maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the treatment rooms
 Maintain cleanliness and attention to detail in treatment room throughout shift.
 To attend daily line-ups, weekly and monthly spa meetings.
 Will be expected to assist and perform various demonstrations and events.


 To maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as lay down by
the Spa Director.
 Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary and must adhere to training
as set down by the Lead Therapist and Spa Management Team.
 Must have the ability to courteously interact and answer all spa and hotel related
questions with guests.
 Perform all treatments to the highest standards.
 Assist in all areas of the spa as and when necessary. E.G. Relaxation area and
Reception
 To be adaptable, flexible, and accountable for all actions.
 Arrive 15 minutes before the start of your shift to allow sufficient time to prepare for
your workday.
 Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all
duties and responsibilities as required by the position or assigned by the Lead
Therapist and Spa Management Team.
 Maintain current professional licenses.
 To assist in the smooth flow of the guests’ journey throughout the day.
 To receive training to ensure that all-relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and
Safety at work Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and
monitored within the spa.
 Must be a team player and assist all spa and hotel colleagues where necessary.
 Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties
and responsibilities as required by the position or assigned by the Lead Therapist
and Spa Management Team.
 To perform all opening and closing duties.
 To have a thorough understanding of all treatments offered in the spa and all retail
products.

 Will greet each guest with a smile and acknowledge guest even in passing.
 Will proactively offer assistance to all spa guests when necessary.
 Maintain spa facility tidy and clean based on our hygiene standards
 Ensure high knowledge of additional hotel services, Rooms, F&B etc.
 Support during all spa and fitness special events and activities as requested
 Responsible for maintaining knowledge of all spa, fitness and member activities, spa
treatments, spa products, fitness and wellness programs
 Handle guest complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, informing
supervisor when required, to ensure follow through and the problems are resolved
satisfactorily
 Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming
 Attend hotel and spa & fitness training sessions when requested by management
 Maintain positive interactions with guests and maintain a positive
relationship with colleagues
 Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by spa and fitness
management team.

Skills & Qualifications

2 Year Experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar
 Must possess a good written and verbal command in the English Language and possess a New
York State Esthetics License.
 Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

 Must possess a New York State license as an Esthetician
 Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities
and tasks.
 Must be self-motivated.
 Must work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
 Must have mathematical skills, technical aptitude, and spa operation knowledge.
 Must be a graduate from an accredited school with a massage or face or
manicure/pedicure license or a combination license
 Knowledge of specific spa industry applications is desirable, such as spa soft.
 Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as
they relate to the Spa and hotel.
 Must have knowledge of current spa trends in the industry
 Must be able to relate to all levels of management and colleagues.
 Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to network with
contacts relevant to the Spa.
 Must have technical awareness and knowledge of a wide variety of treatments
particularly for the face and body.
 Must have knowledge of holistic concepts that relate to the well-being of all guests in
a spa environment.
 Must be open to learning about treatments and concepts that derive from other
cultures.
 To always set a standard in professionalism, appearance and attitude as expected of
all spa colleagues.
 To be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
 Must understand the current legislation in regard to State and local laws for
therapists.
 Consistently strive for a higher level of achievement both personally and
professionally
 Must be comfortable performing treatments for at least 8 hours.
 Must have good time management skills in regard to treatments.
 Positive, engaging, and energetic personality
 Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision
 Very high attention to detail
 Sensitive to cultural nuances
 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on English
 Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment
 Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various
stakeholders
 Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies
 Ability to stand for extended periods of time
 Multi-lingual is a plus
Dual license is preferred.  
This is a 1099 potion.  
$16 per hour plus commission
