INNESS an intimate country refuge, hotel and restaurant located in Accord, New York is seeking Event Captains.
INNESS is situated on a campus of 225 pastoral acres, which includes a 12-room farmhouse hotel, 28 guest cabins, restaurant, event barn, a 9-hole golf course, sporting outfitter, two swimming pools, tennis courts, walking trails, a retail home and a farm shop.
Our ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for and experience in the hospitality industry & has experience working in weddings, corporate events, meetings and private banquets.
Work schedule must be flexible and will include nights and weekends based around event dates.
Responsibilities
To provide a high-end event experience for our corporate & wedding events throughout the property.
Primary duties will be leading a line-up at the start of every event discussing the details pertaining to that specific client, review job roles & responsibilities, discuss timeline of evening; overseeing the servers & bartenders over the duration of the event to ensure a professional service; serve as the liaison between the client/Event Coordinator & BOH - ensure timeline is running according to plan; maintain a clean & professional room over the course of the event; lead the execution of meal-service - serve as the Expo for plated & family-style meal services; create aesthetically-pleasing buffet & beverage stations according to INNESS standards; ensure completion of bar consumption report at the end of each event; oversee the full breakdown of each event & ensure the space is left empty & clean for the next day

Skills & Qualifications
We are seeking a warm, friendly & positive attitude. Our ideal team members have the ability to stay calm under pressure & are quick to learn in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to take constructive feedback positively. Most importantly, our team members must exhibit poise & professionalism when dealing with VIP clientele.
This is a very physical job & you must be able to lift at least 25lbs, have the ability to walk up & down stairs as well as walking on uneven or unpaved surfaces. Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions.
Ability to manage a team of up to 20 staff. A minimum of 2 years of management experience in hospitality & 1 year of catering experience is preferred.
