Inness Summer Day Camp is seeking an outgoing and motivated pool lifeguard who loves working
outdoors and with kids! Please note: We are also in search of swimming instructors for children 9 months
to 10 years.

Responsibilities
Lifeguards are expected to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on deck, and surrounding
areas to prevent facility emergencies and ensure guests remain safe at all times. Lifeguards may also be
asked to assist with:
● Greeting patrons and guests
● Maintaining cleanliness of the facility and checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving
● Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes
member safety and engagement in accordance with INNESS policies and procedures
● Maintains active surveillance of the pool area
● Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately
in accordance with INNESS Summer Day Camp
● Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool
and surrounding area
● Maintains accurate records as required by INNESS and/or the state health department code
● Attends all staff meetings
● Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: To be a Lifeguard, you must:
• Be a minimum of 15 years old
• Have or obtain Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. If you take a certification class or
renew your certification and work as a lifeguard at INNESS, we will pay/reimburse your certification fees.
• Physical requirements may include: Sitting, Standing, and Walking for extended periods of time in an
outdoor environment, ready and able to enter & exit the pool unassisted at any time. You must also be
able to carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
• Be comfortable in and around water and be a proficient swimmer
• Have reliable transportation and attend in-service training as scheduled

■ Pay rate: $15-$20 per hour *depending on experience. References will be requested for any prior
employment listed.
■ A typical morning lasts 3 hours - estimated 8:30am - 11:30am
■ We prefer if applicants are available to work the full camp season, including staff training days
AND camp dates (see above), but will work with individual staff to meet their needs.
